The LetMeApply Chrome extension lets you read a job posting, tailor your resume to it, and apply without ever leaving the job board tab. You install it from the Chrome Web Store, sign in with the same account you use on the web app, and it picks up your existing base resume. On a job posting, you click the extension icon and it extracts the title, company, and requirements from the page, then generates tailored suggestions you can review in place. The point is to remove the copy-paste loop between the posting and your resume tool, which is where most of the time in a high-volume job search actually goes.

What the extension does on a job posting

Four things happen when you open it on a live posting.

Job description extraction

The extension reads the posting directly from the page: title, company, requirements, and responsibilities. You do not copy anything by hand. This works on major job boards and on many company career pages.

Resume tailoring on the spot

Once the description is extracted, the extension connects to your LetMeApply account and generates tailored suggestions against your base resume: updated bullet points, skills, and summary aligned to that specific role. You review and accept the changes in the same tab.

ATS score feedback

How to install the extension

Open any job posting and click the extension icon

The extension shares authentication with the web app, so your resume and job history stay in sync automatically. If the icon shows you as signed out, sign in on the web app first and reopen the posting.

Why the copy-paste workflow costs so much

The usual application loop looks like this: find a posting, copy the description, open a resume tool in another tab, paste, wait for analysis, edit your bullets, download the new file, switch back, fill in the form, upload, repeat. Read every suggestion before you accept it

AI suggestions are drafts. Read each tailored bullet and check that it still describes work you actually did. Accept the ones that improve keyword alignment and clarity. Edit or reject anything that inflates a title, invents a tool you have not used, or claims a result you cannot back up in an interview. This is the single habit that separates a useful tailoring workflow from an embarrassing one.

Which job boards are supported?

The extension works on most major boards including LinkedIn, Indeed, and Glassdoor, plus many company career pages. If a posting has a normal HTML layout with the description visible on the page, extraction usually works.

Some career sites render the description through heavy JavaScript or hide it behind a click. On those, extraction can come back empty. The fallback is the web app, which accepts a pasted job description directly, so an unsupported site slows you down rather than blocking you.

What permissions does it need?

Any extension that reads job postings needs access to page content, which is worth understanding before you install anything. This one:

Activates only when you click the icon. It does not passively watch your browsing.
Reads posting content from the active tab in order to extract the description.
Sends the extracted text to the server for tailoring, encrypted in transit.
Does not touch passwords, banking pages, or unrelated tabs.

Do I need an account to use it?

Yes. The extension has no local tailoring engine of its own. It reads the posting in your browser and hands it to your account, which is where your base resume and history live. Sign in on the web app first and the extension picks up the session.

Does it apply to jobs automatically for me?

No. It extracts the posting and tailors your resume, then you fill in the application and submit it yourself. Nothing reaches an employer without you clicking submit.

What if the extension cannot read a posting?

Copy the description and paste it into the web app instead. This mostly happens on career sites that load the description dynamically or put it behind an expander. The tailoring output is the same either way.

Will recruiters know I used an extension?
