Job description
Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Finance, Indianapolis, IN. Additional selections may be made for other organizational divisions and/or units within the duty location(s) listed above.
This position is located within the Office of Finance (OF), Office of the Commissioner, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), Department of Homeland Security (DHS). Typical duties include: Performing general ledger operations, including analyzing transactions for effects on CBP's assets, liabilities, net position and operations. Providing professional accounting service by preparing, analyzing, interpreting, and presenting accounting data and in reconciling financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information. Providing professional accounting advice by reducing recurring accounting data errors and recommending financial actions by analyzing accounting options. Preparing financial statements and reports for internal and external stakeholders. This position starts at a salary of $90,341.00 (GS-12, Step 1) to $117,446.00 (GS-12, Step 10) with promotion potential to $117,446 (GS-12 Step 10).
