Job description

This position is located in the Risk Management Agency (RMA), Deputy Administrator for Product Management, Product Analysis & Accounting Division, Reinsurance Accounting and Operations Branch. This is a developmental position where the incumbent will work with various levels of the Risk Management Agency staff to provide analysis and evaluation of agricultural insurance accounting systems, procedures, and programs in support of the division.

Assist in the formulation and development of accounting, practices, policies, and analysis. Assist with on-site audits of nationwide reinsurance companies. Assist in the development of new procedures, policies, and systems for the accounting, reporting, and analysis of a nationwide reinsurance program including the Reinsurance Accounting Systems, Pilot Programs, Corporate General Ledger, etc. Reviews programs, regulations, reports, legislation, and policies to help analyze the effect of changes on accounting reporting and resolve accounting and systems problems. Conducts program monitoring, systems maintenance as well as maintaining the daily process of funding producer losses to the reinsured companies within the crop insurance industry. Analyzes and evaluates data with respect to Cost Center control, budgetary resources, annual Financial Statements, and compliance with Appropriations Law.
