Job description

This position is located in the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Policy (OASP), which provides advice and assistance to the Secretary, Deputy Secretary, and Department on matters of policy development, evaluation, regulations, and legislation that will improve the lives of workers, retirees, and their families.

The primary duties and responsibilities as the Administrative Officer include but are not limited to: -Lead in the planning, implementation, coordination, and evaluation of OASP administrative functions. Supervises assigned OASP staff. -Coordinate training and assists in the preparation of performance standards and evaluations of support staff. -Provide final quality-control of documentation generated for or disseminated by OASP. -Prepare relevant briefing memos, letters, background papers, and reports for the Assistant Secretary, etc. -Represent OASP at meetings regarding human resources, technical, budget, performance management, and other administrative support, issues and activities. -Apply a high level of expertise in technical writing and editing skills to provide quick reaction analyses and professional writing.
