Auditor

This position is located in the DEA, Inspection Division, Office of Inspections. This position(s) primary purpose is to support the Inspection Division (IG), Office of Inspections (IN), Inspection Support Section (INS), Audit Unit (INSA). Serves as a senior Auditor with responsibility to conduct and complete Performance, Financial and Attestation Audit assignments throughout DEA.

As an Auditor your typical work assignments may include: Performing objective analysis and systematic evaluation assignments to provide independent assessments of the performance of DEA organizations, its programs, activities, and/or functions by conducting complete or segments of audits of internal programs, special reviews, and on­site inspections. Developing and/or participating in the development of proposals for audits, surveys, special reviews, programs, functions and systems. Planning, conducting, and reporting on the audit and special reviews of financial programs and/or the integrated financial operations and other types of financial information for organizations throughout DEA, its programs, activities, and functions. Developing audit approaches and formulating plans for work assignments. Developing working papers and preparing or assessing findings for consolidation into the final audit report. Performing the most complex analysis and evaluations related to all aspects of accounting, management control and risk management.
