BORDER PATROL AGENT (INTELLIGENCE)

Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, U.S. Border Patrol, Rio Grande Valley Sector, Targeting & Intelligence Division, Sector Intelligence Unit in Houston, TX. This position will allow you to use your expertise to prevent illegal entry of aliens into the United States by land, water, or air; enforce criminal provisions of the Immigration and Nationality Laws; and seek out and apprehend smugglers or aliens who are in the United States illegally. As a Border Patrol Agent (Intelligence), you will serve as a primary law enforcement officer (under 5 U.S.C. 8331 (6C) and 8412 (d)) and be responsible for collecting and analyzing intelligence, conducting complex border security and law enforcement operations, supporting investigations and prosecutions, participating in interagency task forces, and mentoring lower-graded agents to disrupt and dismantle transnational criminal and smuggling organizations. Typical duties will include: Collaborating with USBP HQ and sector staff in the collection, formulation, and development of Border Patrol objectives including supporting hiring and recruitment strategy and goals. Assisting with Border Patrol mission-specific projects that may include operations, data collection and reporting, administrative and logistical support, technological requirements, internal and external communications, and other program areas. Representing the agency with stakeholders and the public. Coordinating and collaborating with sector staff in the accomplishment of Border Patrol operations.
