If selected, you will serve as the Budget Officer for the United States Attorney's Office for the Western District of Washington. You will be responsible for establishing and maintaining an integrated financial management system to include budgeting, accounting, acquisitions, support services/facilities, and financial reporting. Typical work assignments will include: Assigning work to subordinates based on difficulty of assignments and staff capabilities; Providing technical guidance, advice, and assistance to the Administrative Officer and the U.S. Attorney in the identification of future resource requirements, and in the planning and development of future budget requirements; Monitoring and preparing reports on actual and projected Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) allocations; Controlling administrative and program funds to assure that all issuances are not in excess of latest approved allowances; Managing the certification of obligations for the District to ensure financial transaction records are accurate; Preparing annual administrative budgets and operating plans; Ensuring that all regulatory procedures and guidance are followed in initiating all procurement actions; that funds have been certified as available, and that all required approvals have been obtained and documented; and Overseeing support services staff that is responsible for providing a broad range of services to the District, to include space management, telecommunications, purchasing supplies, furniture and equipment, inventory, and mail records.
