Job description

About the Position: Provide expertise in essential areas pertaining to the study, design, construction, operation, investigation, and repair of new or existing Hydraulic Steel Structures such as fabrication, fasteners, materials, and welding, for both complex and non-complex civil works projects to Engineering Division, Operations Division, and Construction Division, as well as other districts and Architect-Engineer (AE) firms.

Assists senior engineer on investigations and design of structural aspects of navigational steel structures, flood walls, pump stations. Assesses structures and provides guidance on how to restore functionality safely. Coordinates with structural, mechanical, and electrical engineers and architects to ensure proper integration of systems and equipment. Provides technical advice and guidance to others and reviews completed assignments for accuracy and adequacy. Reviews construction submittals and design studies for compliance with specifications, completeness, and approved design criteria. Develops design details, computations, and sketches of structural features for difficult and complex Hydraulic Steel Structural features.
