Job description
This position is located within the Department of the Interior, National Park Service, National Park Service - Southeast, Division of Administration located in Ochopee, Florida.
At the full performance level (GS-12) the major duties of this position include, but are not limited to the following: Helps commercial service providers understand applicable regulations and policies. Informs commercial service providers of legal and procedural changes that influence daily operations. Reviews new/revised laws, regulations, and policies, and communicates questions and concerns to supervisor/regional office. Assists in the preparation and development of prospectus documents. Assists with the development, review, and updating of contracts, operating and maintenance plans. Assists in the monitoring and implementation of asset management and Concessions Facilities Improvement Program requirements. Assists with the development of contract Asset Management, Risk Management and Environmental Management Program requirements. Evaluates proposals for commercial service opportunities by serving as an evaluator, or technical advisor on panels. Plans, schedules, and conducts evaluation visits of facilities and commercial service operations. Assists with Risk Management Program evaluations. Collects and monitors contractual, operational and safety performance data of concessioners. Investigates, researches, and responds to inquiries. Serves as liaison between commercial service providers and NPS divisions/park staff. Shares information about the Commercial Services Program. Investigates the circumstances surrounding complaints received and drafts responses to inquiries and complaints. Duties will be developmental in nature when filled below the full performance level. This position requires the ability to obtain a driver's license within 30 days of appointment and maintain.
