Job description

You will serve as a ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN (NUCLEAR) in the Production Resources Department, Nuclear Production Manager's Office, Code 300N of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.

You will analyze engineering specifications, drawings, and work plans, establishing detailed production repair for the reactor plant area on an assigned shift. You will plan material, manpower, and special equipment requirements for conversion and/or repair of nuclear submarine reactor plant. You will observe work in progress to ensure that safe radiological practices are followed, correcting immediately all radiological deficiencies. You will ensure proper manning levels to accomplish scheduled work and as necessary reschedule manpower requirements. You will review technical work documents for workability on the waterfront. You will provide technical assistance to projects and resource shops as necessary to ensure quality and timeliness of completed work.
