Financial Management Specialist

This vacancy is for a GS - 0501 - 13, Financial Management Specialist located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, FACILITIES DESIGN and CONSTRUCTION CENTER in NORFOLK, Virginia. This is a term appointment not to exceed 30 September 2029.

You will serve as a Financial Management Specialist and be responsible for vast knowledge of accounting and financial management principles and procedures in completing complex assignments. Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include: Providing technical advice to resolve issues related to regulatory requirements and statutory policies, including conducting in-depth research and interpreting guidelines, regulations, and proposing alternatives. Evaluating complex programs for compliance with relevant policies and regulations, including analyzing new policies and their impact on existing procedures and objectives. Performing analyses and interpretations of financial statements and reports to resolve unprecedented problems. Analyzing operations, financial systems, and reports to identify trends, anomalies, or problems, and develop solutions, including planning and executing changes to financial reports and leveraging computer technology. Planning and conduct studies of financial management processes (budgetary, financial, procurement, property management), develop recommendations for improvement, and document findings
