Job description

Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Finance, Indianapolis, IN. This position is located in the Financial Operations Directorate of the Office of Finance (OF), United States Customs and Border Protection (CBP), United States Department of Homeland Security (DHS). The incumbent provides financial program administration and analytical support to designated operational payroll, revenue, and/or financial reporting functions. Typical duties include: Interpreting and applying laws, regulations, management policies, operating practices, and other guidance to functional processes ensuring procedures and automated systems are in compliance. Providing technical assistance, renders advice, and prepares presentations and reports for use by management in decision-making. Suggesting changes to automated systems, develops reports, and modifies procedures to assure responses are completed within acceptable time frames. Reviewing, verifying, analyzing, and interpreting various financial data, projections, records, and reports for consistency and recommends solutions to difficult problems and program changes. Preparing statements and reports containing timely, accurate financial information used to manage financial projects and programs, and meet reporting requirements This position starts at a salary of $75,374.00 (GS-11, Step 1) to $97,991.00 (GS-12, Step 10) with promotion potential to $117,446 (GS-12 Step 10).
