Located in the Bureau of Economic, Energy, and Business Affairs; Deputy Assistant Secretary for Counter Threat Finance and Sanctions (EEB/TFS), Office of Economic Sanctions Policy and Implementation or Office of Global Sanctions and Threat Finance. Provides guidance to senior officials on the development, coordination, and management of economic sanction policies for Department of State officials and interagency contacts for countering activities that threaten U.S. interests. Analyses the economy of potential sanctions target countries to identify economically critical sectors where targeted sanctions would most effectively exert pressure to achieve the desired foreign policy outcome. Monitors sanctions-related geopolitical, economic, and legislative developments to identify emerging issues requiring policy attention. Analyzes and evaluates factors and conditions involved in the administration of U.S. foreign policy and sanctions programs.
