As an Immigration Officer, you will provide guidance, conduct research for the purpose of enhancing current policies and procedures, and identify, articulate, and pursue suspected immigration benefit fraud.
The responsibilities described are for the full performance level. At developmental grade levels, assignments will be of more limited scope performed with less independence, and limited complexity. Perform anti-fraud, public safety and National Security-related duties consistent with the national effort directed by USCIS’ Fraud Detection and National Security Directorate. Performs investigative functions to safeguard the immigration system by conducting extensive screening and vetting inquiries and detailed research and analysis. Work directly with internal and external partners, including USCIS adjudicators, law enforcement agencies, prosecutors, and intelligence agencies. Plans, organizes, and coordinates briefings and information exchange-related programs and projects. Coordinates, performs studies, and conducts research in order to develop policies, criteria, methods, and techniques for the resolution of advanced program problems.
