Job description

This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies. Applications will not be accepted through this flyer. You will perform industrial hygiene inspections, surveys and evaluations individually or as part of a team. You will assess work practices to identify the population at risk and to detect violations of published health standards (e.g. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), U.S. Code of Federal Regulations, DoD and DoN directives). You will present oral briefs, if requested, and provide detailed written reports of IH survey findings including hazards identified, assessment of the hazards, exposure monitoring required and controls recommended. You will evaluate the need for quantitative assessment of air contamination; noise and other physical stressors as well as the quantitative assessment of ventilation systems. You will prepare written workplace monitoring plans and track their completion, updating the plans as necessary. You will maintain, calibrate, and select appropriate equipment and media and conduct or oversee sampling. You will prepare notifications as required and documentation for personnel medical records. You will recommend engineering controls to correct deficiencies where feasible. You will recommend medical surveillance for employees who are potentially over exposed to hazardous materials, noise, and physical hazards.
