Job description
You will serve as a INTERDISCIPLINARY SUPERVISORY GENERAL ENGINEER / ARCHITECT in the NAVAL FACILITIES ENGINEERING SYSTEMS COMMAND of NAVAL FACILITIES ENG SYSTEMS COMMAND PAC.
You will provide guidance to other CIBL engineers/architects, as well as NAVFAC Business/Support Line and Functional Area representatives exercising management and administrative skills in the execution of Capital Improvements projects. You will provide advice and recommendations concerning architectural and engineering methods and systems as necessary to develop and coordinate projects for design, repair, alteration, rehabilitation, installation, improvement or demolition. You will provide expert mentoring, guidance, advice and direction to engineers, architects, interior designers, cost estimators, program managers, construction managers, program analysts and others who operate as a team. You will provide supervision and direction for the more complex projects prepared by regional Command, and is the principal design engineer/architect to whom all technical matters concerning a given project are referred. You will decide on acceptability of work products or services and similar matters, which may affect payment to contractors, and determines whether contractor performed work meets standards of adequacy necessary for authorization of payment.
