Job description
This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies. Applications will not be accepted through this flyer. You will assess new technologies to improve network operations and security of network. You will conduct feasibility studies and trade-off analysis. You will develop long-term plans for technology refresh and network upgrades. You will develop long-range plans for network security systems that anticipate, identify, evaluate, and mitigate risks associated with network vulnerabilities. You will represent the organization in department-wide work groups as technical expert on network solutions; responsible for implementing and integrating new IT technologies. You will educate IT professionals and management on emerging technologies for network security and network convergence. You will be responsible for daily operations of enterprise network, firewalls, and Wide Area Network (WAN) connections. You will develop policies and procedures to prevent against unauthorized access to systems, networks and data. You will ensure operational procedures are followed in accordance with Navy security and procedures and leads team members in developing network operating procedures. You will conduct risk and vulnerability assessments of planned and installed information systems to identify vulnerabilities, risks and protection needs.
