Job description

This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies. Applications will not be accepted through this flyer. You will perform all types of general machinist work involving machine tool operation assembly, installation, and bench work required in the fabrication and repair of mechanical parts and assemblies during prototype and engineering development phase. You will program and operate numerical control (NC) and computer-numerical control machine tools (CNC). You will effectively plan the methods and proper sequence of operations to follow in fabricating the required parts. You will commonly work to tolerances of .001 inch and occasionally work to tolerances of .0005 inch. You will use precision measuring instruments such as: micrometers, dial indicators, precision gauge blocks, vernier calipers and height gages, and special tolerance gauges in setting up the checking parts or assemblies being manufactured. You will perform general bench work such as: chipping, filing, grinding, tapping, reaming, scraping, lapping, and polishing as required in the fitting and assembling of parts into completed assemblies.
