Job description
This position is located at the PHS Indian Hospital, Pine Ridge, SD. The position performs the primary functions of a Registered Nurse in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating the care of all assigned patients in the operating room. This position is approved for Standby Duty and works on a regularly assigned rotational OR standby schedule. A REAL ID will be required beginning May 7, 2025, in accordance with 6 C.F.R. 37.5 (2021).
Utilizes the nursing process in identifying individual patient problems and in developing, implementing and evaluating patient care plans. Provides patient education and self-management support by making weekly/monthly calls to encourage patient to meet goals. Communicates the patient needs and recommended treatment to care team Operating Room Duties, including Pre-Op and PACU, circulating RN Provides comprehensive nursing care and care management services to patients based on a nursing history/assessment, facility accepted clinical standing orders, policies/procedures and the physician's medical plan of care. Participates as a crucial member and leads the care team.
