Physician (Neurology)

About the Position: Serve as Staff Neurologist at Evans Army Community Hospital with Defense Health Agency, Intrepid Spirit Center at Fort Carson, CO. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation. Medical malpractice liability insurance is not required for federal civilian healthcare providers as they are covered by the Federal Tort Claims Act (28 U.S.C. § 1346(b)) while acting within the scope of their employment.

Serves as a physician working with Traumatic Brain Injury within the field of Neurology, responsible for the examination, diagnosis, and treatment of the full range of outpatients seen in the Intrepid Spirit Center outpatient clinic. Provide recommendations or definitive evaluation for neurology problems in the referral region through phone consultation, telemedicine, and authorization and evaluation of air evacuation patients as appropriate. Initiates, writes, and dictates medical summaries for the medical retention boards. Writes or dictates physical profiles, medical evaluation boards, fitness for duty evaluations, or other related documentation appropriately. Oversees, teaches, and consults with other health care providers (nurse practitioners, physician assistants, medical students, interns, residents, and fellows).
