Job description
Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Field Operations, International Operations and Advisory Directorate (IOAD), Strategy and Innovation Division in Ashburn, VA.
In this position with International Operations and Advisory Directorate (IOAD, you will serve as a Program Manager over a major program area and/or critical program segment for which the scope and effect of the work have department-wide or government-wide impact. This position starts at a salary of $169,279.00 (GS-15, Step 1) to $197,200.00 (GS-15, Step 10). Typical duties include: Coordinating with the Executive Assistant Commissioner (EAC) and other senior leaders, planning for short-and long-term operations for OFO with particular focus on interactions with and support from various Program Office personnel across CBP. Directing staff, coordinating with the EAD/senior leadership to take necessary corrective steps or modifying proposals ensuring compliance with policies or providing improved results. Establishing overall OFO managerial and administrative objectives, developing long-range plans and identifying required resources to promote an efficient, economical and progressive organization. Identifying functional areas where revisions may be necessary and directing development of studies or concept of plans providing necessary information for final decision. Directing development of corrective or preventive measures obtaining desired results, and ensuring that new technical and managerial plans and programs are coordinating within the chain of command.
