Quality Assurance Specialist

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Domestic Defense Industrial Base (DIB) & Major Range and Test Facilities Base (MRTFB) to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: The Watervliet Arsenal is an Army-owned and operated manufacturing center located in New York. It is the oldest, continuously active arsenal in the United States having begun operations in 1813.

Develops the General Quality Assurance Program for the Directorate as well as Quality Assurance Programs for each of the specifically assigned mission or non-mission items, which include complete cannon assemblies or other complete items. Creates Quality Process approval sheets and component travelers for all components as requested using data supplied by the Production Planner Route Sheet and the Quality Assurance Provision (QAP) requirements. Analyzes defects in and coordinates the activities of other professionals who are assigned to monitor travelers, planning and quality assurance activities to ensure accuracy between the Quality Assurance Provision (QAP) and travelers are met. Reviews, analyzes, identifies, classifies, and initiates actions to accurately retrieve a large variety of component travelers.
