Job description

The Eastern Kansas Health Care System Topeka VAMC is seeking three qualified Registered Nurses to serve the Veteran's in our Specialty Care department as Oncology and Hematology RN's. This is a clinical position working Monday through Friday 0800-1630.

Duties to include but not limited to the following: Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care based on age-specific components. Administers medications and procedures per established policies and guidelines. Providing a safe working environment while administering, handling, and disposing of antineoplastic drugs and medical waste. Influences care outcomes by collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team. Completes basic physiological assessments and completes documentation in the electronic health record (EHR) in accordance to established policies and procedures. Monitors, tracks/tends, and reports ongoing care needs and outcomes to the interdisciplinary team.
