Job description

This position is located at the Wilmington VAMC in Quality Management Service.

THe QM Consultant position is the Accreditation Specialist and is responsible for primary oversight and consultative services toward organizational continuous readiness for the following accrediting organizations and monitoring activities of The Joint Commission, The Office of Inspector General, Ascellon / Long term review, Food and Drug Administration, and others. They will assist in the coordination of accreditation program specific tams based on organizational needs, primary responsibility for ongoing tracer activities, keeping self and facility staff up to date on regulatory changes, assist in the development, implementation and monitoring of corrective actions. The incumbent will participate in Environment of Care rounds and Construction rounds to ensure regulatory compliance. The incumbent will assume responsibility for timely completion of any self-assessments as required by regulatory bodies. They participate in several facility councils, committees, and workgroups. Executes the position responsibilities that demonstrate effective leadership, detailed planning, professional communication, creative and innovative approaches to the improvement of safety/healthcare program development and possess an ability to organize priorities. The incumbent QM Consultant works in concert with leaders and others to sustain a culture of safety, modeling High Reliability Organization (HRO) practices. The QM Consultant incumbent performs duties directly contributing to high quality and safe patient care within the Veterans Health Administration (VHA). Duties require the ability to apply specialized principles and practices to ensure a systems approach to healthcare delivery. The incumbent QM Consultant directly supports facility leadership in areas of planning, organization, development, direction, and evaluation of the quality program within the facility.
