Job description
The Float Pool RN provides direct and indirect nursing care to residents and families in the Acute Care Units, Intensive care units, Spinal cord units, polytrauma units, Community Living Center (CLC), Palliative Care/Hospice, and Emergency Department. The Float Pool RN provides nursing care, education, and discharge planning to surgical and non-surgical veterans requiring in-patient admission and/or observation.
The Resource Pool Registered Nurse (RN) executes position responsibilities that demonstrate leadership, experience, and creative approaches to management of complex patient care. Duties Include but are not limited to: Responsible and accountable for all elements of the nursing process when providing and/or supervising direct patient care. Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care based on age specific components. Assumes responsibility for the coordination of care focused on patient education, self-management, and customer satisfaction throughout the continuum of care. Administers medications and procedures per established policies and guidelines. Influences care outcomes by collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team. Executes position responsibilities that demonstrate leadership, experience, and creative approaches to management of complex client care. Preferred Experience: Minimum of 3-5 Years of Medical Surgical/Medical Oncology, Telemetry Experience1-2 Years of Float Pool Experience PreferredSpinal Cord Injury/Traumatic Brain Injury Care Experience Preferred BLS Certification Required. ACLS Certification Preferred.
