About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located in the Joint Intelligence Directorate, J2. Perform as a multi-discipline Security Specialist administering intelligence-related personnel, information, and industrial security. Support the Special Security Officer in the administration, enforcement and oversight of the JIATFS Sensitive Compartmented Information and collateral security programs. Maintain all Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) accreditations from conception through final accreditation. Develop, implement and monitor policies, procedures, control systems and methods to prevent the compromise or loss of classified information or material. Administer programs for the continuous security evaluation of personnel and process security clearance requests for investigations requiring Tier 3 or Tier 5 clearance. Advise officials on the requirements of the industrial security program and prepare security documentation to identify the level and extent of security protection required for the programs, systems, or information involved. Develop local implementing security guidance and explain security procedures and requirements to management officials and employees. Independently review and recommend action for a variety of security problems, questions and situations.
