Job description
You will serve as a SECURITY SPECIALIST in the Cyber Operations and Security Division (Code 163) of SUPSHIP. You will develop & monitor security policies, program & procedures for Personnel, Physical, Information, Industrial & Operational Security as well as Anti-Terrorism Force Protection functional security disciplines. A relocation incentive is generally a single payment intended to offset some of the relocation costs experienced by the selectee. A relocation incentive may be authorized.
You will function as the Information Security Manager, Naval Nuclear Propulsion Information Control Officer and Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) Program Manager. You will ensure proper classification, declassification, handling and protection of all classified national security information as well as all other CUI originated or controlled within the command. You will perform investigative inquiries for potential security violations, infractions, and compromises of information and conduct audits/inspections of all workspaces and prepare reports and advise management concerning audit/inspection findings. You will function as the Assistant Security Manager. You will review investigative reports and other information concerning employees for security clearance purposes and initiate appropriate action for issuing clearances and access to classified information. You will ensure preliminary, security-related screenings of prospective employees are promptly completed. You will maintain contact/liaison with appropriate federal agencies/offices involved in conducting personnel investigations and in the adjudication and issuance of personnel security clearances. You will coordinate with Human Resources Department on the development and implementation of procedures and criteria for determining sensitivity of positions and special investigative requirements. You will review and audit Huntington Ingalls Industries Newport News Shipbuilding (HII-NNS) practices/procedures for compliance with contractually invoked DOD/Navy requirements for the protection of classified and sensitive information. You will conduct surveys of SUPSHIP spaces and facilities to determine whether restricted areas and related protective procedures should be established or disestablished and assess the effectiveness of such areas and procedures.
