Job description
You will serve as a SHIPBOARD HABITABILITY PROGRAM SPECIALIST in the SHIP MAINTENANCE AND MATERIAL READINESS DIRECTORATE (N43) of COMMANDER NAVAL AIR PACIFIC.
You will serve as the command's program manager and subject matter expert for shipboard habitability and enhanced quality of life (QOL) initiatives across all COMNAVAIRPAC aircraft carriers. You will provide strategic planning, coordination, and execution oversight to ensure shipboard living and working conditions meet established Navy standards and support Fleet readiness. You will develop and submit budget requirements, prioritizes investments, and manages production schedules to align habitability and QOL projects with maintenance availabilities and operational demands. You will conduct ship visits, inspections, and assessments to evaluate berthing, galleys, laundries, and sanitary spaces. You will coordinate corrective and modernization actions with Regional Maintenance Centers, planning yards, and design/technical authorities to resolve deficiencies and implement improvements. You will plan, allocate, and manage the Ship's Force Work Package (SFWP) material program, ensuring equitable distribution of funding and timely procurement of materials critical to habitability and QOL projects. You will prepare and deliver policy guidance, written correspondence, and oral briefings to prospective Commanding Officers, Executive Officers, department heads, and staff on habitability and QOL programs. You will develop and disseminate command-level policy and implementation strategies, ensuring alignment with higher-echelon directives and emerging Fleet requirements. You will perform duties as Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) for assigned contracts, ensuring contractor performance, compliance with contract requirements, and timely delivery of products and services.
