This position is located in the Department of Health and Human Services, Assistant Secretary for Financial Resources, headquartered in Washington, District of Columbia. WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY As a Small Business Specialist, you will use your knowledge and experience to optimize business results and customer experience by: Providing technical guidance to contracting activities on implementing HHS small business policies and procedures. Drafting and updating policy memoranda, templates, guidance, and SOPs governing small business coordination, market research, and subcontracting. Interpreting and applying FAR, HHSAR, SBA regulations, and Departmental policies to complex acquisition scenarios Evaluating acquisition planning documentation to ensuring adequate market research and set-aside consideration. Analyzing small business performance data from FPDS, SAM.gov, USAspending, eSRS, and SBCX. Coordinating with contracting offices, program offices, and acquisition organizations to resolve small business coordination issues. Developing and delivering training on small business policy, HHS Form 653, and subcontracting requirements
