Job description
This position is located in the Department of Health and Human Services, Office of Inspector General, Office of Audit Services.
The incumbent of this position serves as the Assistant Regional Inspector General for Audit. Major duties for this position include but are not limited to: Serving as a Supervisory Auditor (Audit Manager) and is responsible for the conduct of comprehensive audits of Departmental programs, such as those managed by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). Planning, directing and coordinating the audit segment of the IG annual work plan within the region. Providing line management for the provision of audit services for assigned management and program activities of the Department within the geographic area. The incumbent also plans and coordinates audits of programs and contracts funded by other Federal departments and agencies. Serving as a contact point for advice and assistance on audit matters including programs of other Federal departments and agencies where HHS has audit cognizance. Assuring audit guides were followed, working papers adequately support findings and conclusions and provide sufficient data to prepare a meaningful report, and that the audit objectives are met. Incumbent is responsible for the timeliness and accuracy of the special and recurring reports required of an ARIGA.
