Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, U.S. Border Patrol, Yuma Sector, Mission Readiness Operations. This position will allow you to use your expertise to prevent illegal entry of aliens into the United States by land, water, or air; enforce criminal provisions of the Immigration and Nationality Laws; and seek out and apprehend smugglers or aliens who are in the United States illegally. The Supervisory Border Patrol Agent (Assistant Chief Patrol Agent) serves as a second-line supervisory, secondary-administrative law enforcement officer under 5 U.S.C. 8331 (6C) and 8412 (d), duties and responsibilities include: Assisting in the planning and directing of sector-wide programs that enforce immigration and nationality laws Assuming responsibility for all sector activities in the absence of the Chief Patrol Agent, including making preliminary determinations regarding the prosecution of immigration and national law violators Reviewing and recommending courses of action regarding personnel issues at the sector level Assisting and collaborating with other federal agencies and foreign governments to develop and implement sector operations consistent with Customs and Border Protection (CBP) policy
