Supervisory CBP Officer (Assistant Port Director)

This position starts at a salary of $109,383.00 (GS-13, Step 1) to$142,199.00 (GS-13, Step 10) Typical duties include: Directing and managing port operations, evaluating mission requirements, and advocating for necessary resources and equipment to achieve operational goals. Interpreting and applying laws and regulations from multiple agencies to determine the admissibility of travelers, cargo, and conveyances, including compliance with international mail and vessel/aircraft arrivals and departures. Developing and deploying special enforcement operations targeting high-risk areas, with a focus on antiterrorism and trade security initiatives. Overseeing a medium-sized bargaining unit workforce, ensuring proper application of the collective bargaining agreement, and resolving labor-related issues. Planning, assigning, and evaluating work performed by subordinate supervisors, addressing performance and training needs, and implementing policies to improve efficiency and quality of operations. Individuals are required to have physically resided in the United States or its protectorates (as declared under international law) for at least three of the last five years.
