Job description

Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Finance, Financial Operations, Indianapolis, IN. Additional selections may be made for other organizational divisions and/or units within the duty location(s) listed above.

This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), Office of Finance (OF), Financial Operations, Financial Systems Management and Oversight Division. The Division is responsible for planning, developing, integrating, implementing and supporting CBP's financial management systems. The Financial Systems Management and Oversight Division is comprised of three Branches: Administrative Systems; Business Information Systems; and, Revenue & Robotics. Typical duties include: Supervising subordinate employees performing the core work of the unit while managing major, agency-wide systems development efforts in accordance with established implementation schedules, funding, and customer commitments, including the planning, development and timely delivery of user training, new systems operational availability and user support. Developing and executing, oversees, or coordinates primary financial/accounting systems design aspects of enterprise-wide systems development, integration or modernization project plans, strategies and implementation schedules that are central to the agency's mission. Planning, developing, implementing, integrating and supporting business information and decision support systems, consistent with agency policy, business processes, goals, user requirements, implementation schedules, and applicable standards. Guiding and reviewing the development (or developing and coordinating the contents) of planning documents, business cases, and Cost Benefit Analyses with the goal of producing sound justification for financial systems projects. This position starts at a salary of $149,323.00 (GS-15, Step 1) to $194,122.00 (GS-15, Step 10) with promotion potential to $194,122 (GS-15 Step 10).
