SUPERVISORY HUMAN RESOURCES SPECIALIST

We provide direct support to a four-star unified Combatant Commander, but compact enough that our staff works with senior leadership representatives of our inter-service, inter-agency and international partner organizations. Serve as the Deputy Director for Manpower and Personnel (J1) Directorate of USSOUTHCOM. Serve as the primary assistant to the Director and sharing full responsibility for managerial oversight, advice, and guidance for all aspects and functional areas of US SOUTHCOM’s military and civilian personnel Human Resources programs. Oversee the staff planning processes and execution and serves as a key member of command resource planning teams that consider budget, manpower, personnel and mission aspects of management and resource issues. Serve as the Division Chief over any one of the four J1 Divisions (Manpower, Strength Management, Awards, Civilian Personnel, Operations, and Quality of Life) whenever the Division Chief is absent or the positions are vacant.
