Job description

You will serve as a Technical Manager in the Nuclear Weapons Security (NWS) Department where they will supervise their personnel and ensure they are staffed, trained, and equipped in performing their duties. You will exercise program and technical management over the NWS programs developed or modified under the awarded contract which SPS has cognizant oversight. You will ensure the section analyzes, interprets, or clarifies, directives, decisions, technical requirements, and the means by which their intent may be achieved for Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) and the contractors. You will continually evaluate the efforts of the contractor (using inputs/actions from DCMA and their personnel) in achieving contract and program milestones with respect to technical, cost, and schedule requirements. You will direct the implementation of technical directives relating to contractor and Navy organizations for which SSP and SPS maintain control. You will assume responsibility, as required, to motivate others, resolve technical problems, and/or make recommendations for technically acceptable courses of action. You will schedule, plan, coordinate, and direct work performed by government civilians You will assign and reviews work based on individual expertise and skills of employees, evaluates performance, provides guidance and direction, review travel, recommends promotions, discipline and awards, etc.
