Supervisory IT Specialist

This position is in the Office of Standardization and Sustainment, Resolution Management for the Electronic Health Record Modernization Integration Office (EHRM-IO), where the incumbent serves as the Director, Resolution Management. The incumbent is responsible for overseeing the full range of duties to accomplish major organizational IT strategies, initiatives, programs and projects and supervises a staff consisting of specialists, analysts and various contractor personnel.

Some work may require walking and standing in conjunction with travel and attendance at meetings and conferences away from the work site. Some employees may carry light items, such as papers, books, or small parts. The work does not require any special physical effort. Applicants selected for this position may be required to serve a one-year supervisory probationary period. Failure to successfully complete the supervisory probationary period will result in the employee being reassigned to a position in the agency of no lower grade and pay than the one the employee left to accept the supervisory or managerial position. Major Duties: Manages and oversees the technology and integration operations and is the principal advisor for strategic planning and oversight for the Operations Directorate. Delivers highly technical analyses of information security policies, strategies, architecture, metrics, risk management, workforce development, change management and business intelligence. Initiates and manages special technical studies and projects of a highly confidential and complex nature related to executing the EHRM-IO mission. Conducts program and project research and performance analysis, delivers guidance for process improvement, and manages the implementation of that guidance. Ensures EHRM-IO programs, projects, policies, and operations align with applicable cybersecurity regulations and guidance. Monitors changes in Federal legislation and regulations, as well as agency-level guidance, policy, regulations, and directives for potential impact on EHRM-IO policies. Plans the work to be accomplished by the unit, assigns work to employees, and establishes production or quality standards for the unit's work.
