Job description
Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Air and Marine Operations in the following locations: Buffalo, NY Manassas, VA Jacksonville, FL El Paso, TX Additional selections may be made to include other organizational divisions and/or units within the duty location(s) listed above.
As a Supervisory Marine Interdiction Agent, you will serve as the Director, Air and Marine Operations (DAMO), of a branch and participates with higher-ranking officials in administering, managing, and planning CBP's National Air and Marine Program requirements and provides law enforcement leadership, management, and coordination of marine branch activities and assets throughout the area of responsibility. This position starts at a salary of $152,040.00 (GS-15, Step 1) to $197,200.00 (GS-15, Step 10). Standard duties may include: Collaborating and participating with the regional executive director in conducting periodic and comprehensive evaluations of air and marine and law enforcement programs and objectives to identify possible problem areas and direct necessary program improvements. Exercising broad management supervision, direction, and oversight of CBP's National Air and Marine Program, leading and making major decisions on projects, changes in program emphasis, and diversion of resources. Conducting long range planning to meet future objectives and determining the need for coordination of necessary organizational changes. Increasing efficiency and effectiveness of employees and equipment involved in marine law enforcement operations and mentoring and guiding the professional development of employees. Determining priorities and projects for completion and ensuring efficient execution and coordination of operations and training with law enforcement partners.
