Job description
This position is located in the Department of Health and Human Services, National Center for HIV, Viral Hepatitis, STD, and TB Prevention, headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia. WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY As a Supervisory Research Health Scientist, you will use your knowledge of and experience to optimize business results and customer experience by: Interacting with other NCHHSTP senior staff and other Federal agencies regarding joint and collaborative approaches to program development at the national and international level. Serving as Branch Chief responsible for planning, directing, and executing all Branch activities and services. Being responsible for the technical quality, quantity, and timeliness of laboratory work; ensuring scientific rigor through critical review and acceptance or rejection of scientific products. Leading a Branch of approximately 30 FTEs and supervising two laboratory teams with responsibility for approximately 29 personnel. Making recommendations regarding resource allocation, operating costs, program priorities, long-range planning, and policy formulation.
