Treasury, Consumer, and Financial Markets Branch Chief

This position is located in the Executive Office of the President (EOP), Office of Management and Budget (OMB), Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs (OIRA). The Branch Chief manages a team responsible for the analysis and review of regulations and information collections from the Department of Treasury, Department of Commerce, Securities and Exchange Commission, Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, Small Business Administration, and other governmental agencies and activities.

The Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs (OIRA) is the central authority for the review of Executive Branch regulations, approval of Government information collections, establishment of Government statistical practices, and coordination of Federal privacy policy. OIRA staff provide expert analysis and coordination in these areas to develop OMB-wide policies and positions. The Branch Chief will report to an Associate Deputy Administrator for OIRA that covers this portfolio. As the Treasury, Consumer, and Financial Markets Branch Chief, your typical work assignments may include the following: Directing and managing the work of a group of highly professional policy analysts responsible for the review and analysis of regulatory proposals, policies, and information collection activities focused on the Department of Treasury, Department of Commerce, Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), Commodity Futures Trading Commission, Small Business Administration (SBA), and related agencies to ensure consistency with EO 12866 principles, Paperwork Reduction Act (PRA) statutory requirements, and Administration priorities. Coordinating the preparation of, reviewing, and advising on formal documents relative to assigned departments or governmental activities, such as draft regulations, information collections, guidance documents, OMB memoranda, executive orders, and legislative proposals. Advising the Associate Deputy Administrator, and OIRA and OMB leadership in assigned subject areas to identify policy issues and develop recommendations and to implement Administration regulatory priorities and reforms, including those established by EO 12866, 14192, and 14215. Coordinating with other Branch Chiefs, the Associate Deputy Administrators, and the Deputy Administrator on organizational strategy and cross-cutting policy or other initiatives.
